Palavras is a participatory word exchange that started in Rio de Janeiro and has been performed multiple times in Cabo Frio, Brazil and in Seattle, United States.

Each country (language) has a set of printing stamps that use letter forms appropriated from signage found around the city.

The word given by each participant is entered into "the ledger" and then printed on a card. In exchange for the word given, each participant can choose a card with a new word to take.
